About Kisii university
On 61 acres of land donated by the Gusii County Council, Kisii University College was established in 1965 as a Primary Teachers Training College. The college remained open until 1983, when it was renamed as a Secondary Teachers College and started to provide diploma programs. 1994 saw the College turned over to Egerton University as its campus by order of the Kenyan government.
Aiming to complement the Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), which was phased out in 2001, the Faculty of Commerce launched the Bachelor of Business and Management as its first degree program on campus in 1999.
